Come prepared to make a tax-deductible contribution to HERO to help fund this year's walk. They're walking 98 miles in August in AZ (crazy, aren't they!), one mile for every year the AZ constitution has not allowed all Arizonans the right to marry. There is no minimum contribution but your generous donations will be greatly appreciated. You can drop in anytime during the party. We'll show video of the 2009 and 2006 walks around 5:15pm, with a short presentation to follow. The Right to Marry: Arizona uses the framework of pilgrimage for its outreach. Each summer a group of core Equality Walkers take it to the streets walking a mile for every year Arizona has been a state without full legal recognition of its LGBT citizens. The Equality Walkers hit the pavement to speak to police, city managers, faith communities, elected officials and individulas in diverse districts.
